Looking good when you are bigger than size 16

Obesity is the buzz word at the moment.
It's true that when I look around there are far more men and women of over-generous proportions than there were twenty or thisrty years ago.
There are also far more emaciated young people who are trying to look like the models in the magazines.
I want to consider both these extremes at some point, but as I started with obesity I'll stick with that first.
First of all, if you are obese make sure you don't look like a badly stuffed sack. Sorry if that's not politically correct, but that is what some people resemble. There is absolutely no need for that. Consider Dawn French. She is undeniably well padded but she is undoubtedly attractive and not at all like the above mentioned sack.
The reason is that she stands, moves and sits well.
Her deportment is good.
Deportment is what was drummed into my generation at school (in the '40s and '50s).
Deportment can ensure that from the rear you don't resemble a cow dumping its lumbering weight first on one hip and then the other. Obesity is no excuse - thin people also walk like that but it isn't so obvious. It not only looks awful, it creates terrible back problems which can end up crippling you as you get older.
Walk tall, hold your head high and don't drop your weight from one hip to the other as you walk.
You will look slimmer and neater and you will feel better and will therefore be much happier.
